Calendars created by the Northwest College Photo Theme Seminar Class, featuring scenic images from around Wyoming, will be sold throughout this year’s holiday season.
Advised by NWC’s Digital Studio Specialist Jayne Johnson, the students worked to photograph a variety of objects, landscapes and scenes in nature to produce a single work of art. This year’s calendar theme uses a limited color palette inspired by the birthstone that represents each month.
This year’s calendar features photography by Annie Case, Jennifer Coons, Roy Nelson, Skylar Baron, Jenna Copeland, Jiayu Su, Molly Gjervold, Samantha Ruth and Tia Pierce.
Students in the class who created the calendars will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Scott Christensen Memorial Fund. Christensen served as NWC’s field station technician since Nov. 2009 and died Friday, Oct. 13.
“The support of Scott and his wife Becky during our annual trips in the fall semester to the field station has always had a deep impact on our photo students, and they want to be able to give back as a way of thanks,” said Johnson.
In addition, greeting cards from last year can also be included with the purchase of a calendar. The cards feature photography by last year’s photo seminar students that represents the four seasons.
Calendars can be purchased by contacting Johnson at 307-754-6183 or jane.johnson@nwc.edu. Cost for each calendar is $10.
Samples of the calendars and cards are on display in the NWC Mail Services Room, located in the Orendorff Building, Room 118, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
