Candidates for Northwest College Board of Trustees positions will appear in a public panel talk Thursday, October 20 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 70 in the Fagerberg Building. Co-hosting the panel are NWC’s Faculty Senate and Student Senate. Tim Glatzer, Faculty Senate President and NWC Professor of Mathematics will serve as moderator.
“This is not a ‘partisan’ event, rather an opportunity for the candidates to address the campus community and to either begin new, or reinforce, existing relations with faculty, staff, and students of Northwest College,” Glatzer said.
After filing in August, candidates for the board proceeded directly to the November general election. All candidates have stated that they plan, if possible, to participate in the panel.
Individuals who have filed for seats are Mallory Riley, Emily Hart, and Denise Laursen. They will face incumbents Carolyn Danko and Dusty Spomer for a Powell seat. Incumbent John Housel is running unopposed for a Cody seat.
Following candidate introductions and personal statements about why they’re running, the panelists will present their vision and goals for the future of the college. The forum is expected to last about 60 minutes.
Current NWC trustees are Bob Newsome, John Housel and Tara Kuipers of Cody; Carolyn Danko, Dustin Spomer and Mark Wurzel of Powell; and Lawrence Todd of Meeteetse.
