POWELL, WY – The Northwest College Photographic Communications program will host its annual Photo Expo on Friday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event is open to the public and takes place in the Deitrich portrait studio inside the Fagerberg Building on the Northwest College campus.

Returning from last year’s event is Steph Parker, the Midwest technical representative for SIGMA Lenses America, who will share information on SIGMA lenses for Canon and Nikon cameras. Parker will also spend the weekend with photographic communications students on the annual Outdoor Freshman Experience trip, which takes them through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The trip gives NWC students a unique opportunity to practice their skills and use equipment provided by SIGMA Lenses.

Appearing at the Photo Expo for the first time is Nick Henry, Sales Manager at Roberts Camera in Indianapolis, who will share his extensive knowledge about indoor and outdoor lighting equipment, which will also be available for students and community members to try. Henry will also be joining the Outdoor Freshman Experience trip, providing additional guidance and knowledge in a setting that few photography students can match.

Those attending the expo are invited to bring their cameras for an opportunity to try out a great selection of lenses for themselves. Nikon, Canon, and Sony equipment will be on display, and Parker and Henry will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to check out lenses and answer any photography-related questions.

Two seminars will be offered as part of the Photo Expo as well. At 11 a.m., NWC Assistant Professor of Photography Jennifer Litterer-Trevino will present “Tips for Macro Photography”, and at 1 p.m., a lightning demonstration will be held featuring the new Westcott ST 400 radio powered light and the Westcott 80T on and off camera flash.
