Northwest College is seeking public comments in preparation for a September evaluation by its regional accrediting agency, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
NWC will host an evaluation visit Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 11-12, 2017, by a team representing the HLC.
“The team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meet the HLC’s criteria for accreditation,” NWC President Stefani Hicswa said. “It takes years and an incredible amount of energy for a college to fully examine and evaluate itself before it can present its findings to an accreditation agency. Public comment about how well NWC serves area residents is a critical part of the process.”
The college has been accredited by the HLC since 1964.
Comments regarding Northwest College should be sent to Public Comment on Northwest College, Higher Learning Commission, 230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, IL, 60604-1411. Comments may also be submitted on HLC’s website at www.hlcommission.org/comment.
According to HLC guidelines, comments must address “substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs” and must be in writing.
