QuickBooks and Excel classes coming to Worland in October

POWELL, Wyoming — Worland-area residents can learn to use the newest versions of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel during classes offered this fall through the Northwest College Worland Center for Training and Development.

“Microsoft Excel 2013 Basics” is taught by Ashlee Lundvall from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. She’ll start with basic functions and features, including an introduction to spreadsheet terminology. Also covered are basic formatting techniques, printing, creating and modifying charts, and managing large workbooks. For those already familiar with Excel, Lundvall will give a rundown of the new features worth knowing about in the new 2013 version. The $99 cost includes a manual.

For those Excel users ready to advance to the next step, Duncan Bonine will teach an intermediate Excel 2013 class Friday, Nov. 21. Students can expect to learn about linking and managing multiple worksheets and workbooks, advanced formatting, outlining and subtotals, cell and range names, lists and tables, Web and Internet features, advanced charting, documenting and auditing, templates and settings. Cost is $99 and includes a manual.

A QuickBooks 2013 Basics” class will be taught by KayLynn Dalebout from 6-9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 27 and 29, and Nov. 3 and 5. Topics include an overview of accounting, getting started on setting up company books, everyday and special transactions, and working with reports. Dalebout will also offer tips and tricks garnered from many years working as an IRS tax examiner, private accountant, financial controller and certified public account.
