P O W E L L, W y o. - Cody area residents who enjoy singing are invited to participate in weekly rehearsals starting Monday, Nov. 6, for a community "Messiah" concert scheduled Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Cody Auditorium.

The Cody United Methodist Church is sponsoring the concert and has asked the Northwest Civic Orchestra and Master Chorale to join Cody singers in presenting the traditional Christmas performance.

Weekly rehearsals will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the Cody United Methodist Church on 14th and Beck streets each Monday in November and the first two Mondays in December. They will be conducted by Jan Kliewer, director of the Northwest Civic Orchestra and Master Chorale (NCOC).

If Monday evenings won't work, singers can opt to attend Tuesday NCOC rehearsals in Powell from 7-9 p.m. in Room 48 of the Nelson Performing Arts Center.

In addition to regular weekly practice sessions, a mandatory dress rehearsal will be held in Powell Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Nelson Performing Arts Center Auditorium.

"Messiah" performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in Powell and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, in the Cody Auditorium.
