Greetings!
Here I am back at Northwest College! As I dive into my position as Director of Annual Giving, I'm learning, having fun and re-acquainting myself with NWC, the students, staff, activities, and departments.
My previous connection with NWC was as a traditional student in 1994. Back then, I was fully engaged with campus life and classes as Robbi Christensen. There was never a dull moment!
My Cody Hall roommate and I taped sample pieces of carpet together to make one big floor carpet - we had the most colorful room on campus! We'd line up faithfully in the dining hall for the once-a-week Pasta Bar. I also remember watching soap operas with friends in the Cody Hall downstairs TV lounge and yelling "FLUSH" after using the toilet if someone was taking a shower. In 1995 I decided that I only needed one class, 'Social Time.' I think I was the instructor too! My memories and friends from NWC are ones that I will never forget.
So now I am continuing on, this time as a nontraditional student at NWC. I am focusing on completing my associate of arts in communication, and then pursuing my undergraduate degree in business/organizational communication. With NWC offering more online courses, I can load up - technology does wonders!
Powell is where I grew up, went to school, met my husband, Yancy, and where our son, Ethan, was born. With the exception of two years away, Powell has been my stomping grounds! I currently am the chairperson for the Women's Business Expo, which was recently formed as a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and on the Powell Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. I introduced and created the medical foundation at North Big Horn Hospital in 2002, worked for the Wyoming Small Business Development Center, and facilitated and implemented the Women's Business Roundtables for the U.S. Small Business Administration in Park, Washakie and Weston counties.
At Northwest, I'll also be a co-advisor for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE). I am proud to be part of NWC and look forward to building relationships community wide! I am here for you whether it's helping you reconnect with your old alumni friends - what a fun way to revive memories - or to receive gifts to general or specific scholarships, or other areas, to help students as they reach their educational goals.
As an NWC alumna, student and employee, I welcome you to visit the campus and see what's new. I hope you stop by my office or connect with me via email, as I love to meet new friends!
