ServSafe Training offered Oct. 19 and 20 in Cody

POWELL, Wyoming — Restaurant owners and food service managers can get food safety certification in a two-day ServSafe Training Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19 and 20, at the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development.

Designed for anyone who handles food in a public setting, the class meets from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. both days.

Beyond an awareness of food-safety challenges, participants learn about maintaining sanitary facilities and equipment; methods for purchasing, receiving, storing, preparing, cooking, holding, serving, cooling and reheating food safely; as well as how to train employees to run a hazard analysis critical control point system.

Training is conducted by ServSafe certified instructors Michelle Schwope and Vicky Case. Cost is $109 per person and includes a manual. Continuing education units are available.
