POWELL, WYOMING –Northwest College Giving Day is back for its sixth year with another 24-hour event beginning at noon on Thursday, March 26, and concluding at noon on Friday, March 27. The annual event managed by the NWC Foundation & Alumni Office gives alumni and supporters the opportunity to contribute to the immediate goals and long-term future of the college.
This year’s focus is on expanding student access. Specifically, NWC’s new Affordability Grants provide critical support to low- and moderate-income students and help close the financial gap to keep their college dreams within reach. Scholarships continue to be a priority for Giving Day, plus supporters can choose to give to 14 projects presented by departments across campus.
Along with matching dollars for most gifts, supporters are encouraged to take advantage of new bonuses throughout the 24-hour blitz. Prizes, like $326 for each of the first designations that receive a gift at 3:26 p.m. and 3:26 a.m., are among the new opportunities to multiply your impact. Among new on-campus activities is a Student Senate sponsored scavenger hunt for current students. Trappers will have the opportunity to fund Giving Day projects of their choice after discovering tokens hidden throughout the Student Center. The scavenger hunt will precede this year’s Campus Rally which begins at 1:00 pm on March 26th in the Student Center.
Donors can learn more and make contributions at nwc.edu/givingday. Gifts may also be mailed to the NWC Foundation & Alumni at 231 West 6th Street, Powell, Wyoming, 82435.
Since it was first held in 2021, Giving Day has raised more than half a million dollars for Northwest College with hundreds of individual donations each year made by not only an active group of alumni and employees, but other supporters who make contributions or provide matching gifts. Last year saw a record $233,145 raised, which topped the previous record by more than 32 percent.
The annual event is coordinated by the Northwest College Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which secures and manages private gifts for Northwest College, supporting student opportunity and enhancing the College’s educational offerings. Through the Alumni Association, the office also facilitates connections with NWC’s 24,000+ alumni around the world. To learn more, visit nwc.edu/foundation/.
