POWELL, Wyo. - The annual Trombone Christmas with Friends Concert heralds the holidays with selections of the Christmas season Thursday, Dec. 5, with a 7:30 p.m. performance in Northwest College’s Hinckley Library Amphitheater.

Under the direction of NWC’s low brass instructor, Rick Parmer, this annual event features the combined Northwest Trombones and Big Horn Trombone Ensemble, assisted by several high school students from the area. New this year, the trombones will also welcome the Northwest College Brass Ensemble to the concert.

Included in their repertoire of traditional Christmas music and other selections are “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells,” “Coventry Carol” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

Performers include Jack Nauman from Basin; Nick Tolman from Cowley; Ethan Gunther, Christian Allphin, Bob Wellwood and Wade French from Cody; Jessica Schreiner and Justin Mickelson from Lovell; Josh Hopkin and John Henderson from Greybull and Jared Nielsen and Mike Masterson from Powell.

Allphin, Hopkin and Nielsen join fellow NWC students Katie Crosby, Megan Hansen and Rachel Willis in the Brass Ensemble to perform “Capriccio,” “A Christmas Medley” and “O Sanctissima.”

Parmer encourages the community not to pass up an opportunity to hear these unaccompanied horns as they celebrate the music of the season.

Admission is free and open to the public.
