POWELL, Wyoming — The Northwest College Worland Center is offering November community education classes on cold water survival, YouTube and photography.
Cold Water Survival is taught Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Worland Aquatic Center. Instructor Larry Marlow said participants will learn how to survive in cold water and cold weather, understand symptoms and how to make adjustments to survive while waiting for emergency help. Cost is $55.
Stacy Martinez continues the social media series with a one-hour class Wednesday, Nov. 18, on YouTube for personal use. Participants learn to set up an account, navigate features and be safe when using this popular medium. The class starts at 7 p.m. in the NWC Worland Center Lab. Cost is $5.
It’s not too late to take a class in the popular photography series. Bokeh techniques and light painting are discussed in evening classes Fridays, Nov. 13 and Dec. 18, respectively. Cost is $30 for the series.
A Thai cooking class taught Saturday, Nov. 14, by Washakie Museum and Cultural Center Chef Katy Hayes is already full, but a wait list is being kept.
