P O W E L L, W y o. - The Big Horns will slide into the season with a Trombone Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in Hinckley Library on the Northwest College campus in Powell.

The Big Horns Trombones and Northwest College Trombones are getting together to add some brass to the holiday season with their third annual Christmas concert. The joint ensemble plans an evening of music that can only be properly delivered by large trumpets (the literal translation of the word "trombone"). One of Beethoven's favorite ensembles, the trombone choir's history dates back to the Renaissance.

The Big Horns Trombones, a community troupe, features the talents of Jack Nauman of Basin, John Henderson of Greybull, Rick Parmer of Lovell, and Mike Masterson of Powell.

Northwest College student musicians joining them for the evening are Will Crompton of Evanston, Dustin Hunt of Laurel, Mont., Spencer Nelson of Cody, Cody Sheldon of Meeteetse, and Willy Parmer of Lovell.

Cody High School will be represented by Klarissa Parduba and Dave Ginger. Arnaud Gantier from France (an exchange student in Basin) will also participate.

Admission is free.
