Posted May 24, 2010

CODY, Wyo. - Area residents seeking employment will have a variety of resources available to them Wednesday, June 9, during Community Employment Resource Day at the Park County Library.

Organized by Northwest College’s Cody Center for Training and Development (CTD), the employment resource day is scheduled from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Grizzly Hall of the Park County Library.

Resources available that day include Experience Works, the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, King Temporary Employment Services and Northwest College’s CTD, according to NWC Training and Development Coordinator Kathy Crookshanks.

Experience Works focuses on job opportunities and/or job training for workers age 55 or older; income eligibility requirements apply. Job placement, career counseling, skills assessment testing and interview preparation are offered by the Department of Workforce Services. King Temporary Employment Services will focus on connecting job seekers with local employers for temporary job assignments.

“Participants can also plug into Northwest College’s CTD to learn about training opportunities,” Crookshanks said. “Those include classes for just about everything from basic computers and QuickBooks to professional writing and career programs such as Survey Technician, Pharmacy Technician or Clinical Medical Assistant.”

Skills assessment testing as well as resume review and assistance will also be available during Community Employment Resource Day.
