POWELL, Wyo. - The Northwest College Studio Singers and Vocal Jazz II present their annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in the Nelson Performing Arts Center Auditorium.
Directed by Craig Olson, the groups offer a collection of musical styles including swing, pop and rock, along with vocal and instrumental soloists.
Vocal Jazz II starts the evening with “Billie’s Bounce” by Charlie Parker, a Ken Kraintz arrangement of “Bill Bailey” and “Walkin’ on a Thin Line” by Sharon Broadley.
The groove continues with the Studio Singers performing “Loves Me Like a Rock” arranged by Darmon Meader, “Rosetta” arranged by Larry Lapin and “Radiance” arranged by Kerry Marsh and Julia Dollison. They’ll close their set with another Kraintz tune, “Down At Smokey Joe’s.”
