Vocal jazz quintent performs March 15

P O W E L L, W y o. - Tickets are still available for the Thursday, March 15, Vocalogy concert in Powell. The vocal jazz quintet performs at 7:30 p.m. in the Powell High School Auditorium as part of the 2007 Northwest Jazz Festival.

Vocalogy has been singing together since 1998. Lead singer is Christine Guter who has worked extensively in both live and studio settings, and has sung on several soundtracks including "X-Men 3," "Superman Returns," "Charlotte's Web," and "Happy Feet." The group's alto role is handled by David Scott, a jazz and classical musician who performs regularly in the Boston area.

Tenor John Knutson has opened for Ray Charles, worked the cabaret scene in New York, and continues to perform as a singer and pianist in a wide variety of musical settings. Bass man Chris Morey is known for his work with Grammy-nominated arranger Phil Mattson, including co-hosting the Vocal Jazz Festival at Carnegie Hall. The group is accompanied by Gerhard Guter on piano.
