POWELL, Wyo. - Big Horn Basin women who need help with their resumes and interview skills can sign up now for a free weekly workshop series starting Thursday, Feb. 21, in Powell.

The six-part series provides individual assistance with resume and cover letters, appropriate make-up and business attire, interview techniques, job search skills and more. Participants will test their training in mock interviews with local business owners and managers.

The goal is for each participant to find a job during the course of the series. Those who aren’t successful can request follow-up sessions for more help.

The free training is provided by local business owners and Northwest College students and faculty, except for the resume and cover letter session, which is under the direction of Sarah Cobetto from Secretarial Services in Billings, Mont.

Each workshop session lasts up to three hours. Lunch is provided during the Feb. 21 and 28 sessions, which start at noon and 12:30 p.m., respectively. The remaining four sessions on March 7, 14, 28 and April 4, begin at 1 p.m.

The workshops are limited to 40 participants. Registrations must be received by Thursday, Feb. 14.

To register or learn more, email Jan Kraft, Christina Ramirez or Jesse Dingman.

Registrations can also be submitted online by following the “Training Schedule” link.

The workshop series is the result of a partnership between the NWC’s Team Enactus and Wal-Mart Women’s Economic Empowerment Project. NWC’s Team Enactus is a competitive entrepreneurial team.
