A sixth Trapper added to NWC's final rodeo roster
Originally, only five Trapper cowboys were heading to the National College Finals Rodeo in Casper next week. But, academics matter more than many college cowboys may be willing to admit — and that paid off big time for Jesse Nelson as one of the top bareback riders in the Big Sky Region didn’t make the grades and became ineligible for the finals rodeo.

Just when fans of the Northwest College rodeo team thought it couldn't get any better, Trappers upped their game as they head into the National College Finals Rodeo ranked 15th in the nation as a team with the top team ropers on their side.

POWELL, Wyo. - The cowboy who rode into the sunset is on his way back. In January, longtime Northwest College rodeo coach Del Nose will once again head up NWC's Rodeo Team.

When collegiate rodeo action resumes in the spring, Northwest College bareback rider Jordan Gill will be the man everyone is trying to catch. At the midway point of the 2010-2011 college rodeo season, Gill holds a 179-point lead in the Big Sky Region standings.

NWC rodeo team steady in standings
The Northwest College Trapper men’s rodeo team placed third and the women’s team fourth at the Miles Community College rodeo in Miles City, Mont., last weekend. Eric Fleming finished fourth in the men’s all-around standings for the Trappers.
