For the longest time, it didn’t look like Tuesday night was Nicolette Bloomer’s night. Through three games, the Bakersfield, Calif., freshman carried a negative hitting percentage against No. 16 Casper College, meaning she’d amassed more errors than successful hits.

After some early-season struggles, the Northwest College volleyball team may have showcased its true full potential on Friday night as they traveled to Rock Springs to knock off No. 10 Western Wyoming 25-13, 18-25, 26-24, 28-26 in volleyball action.

NWC volleyball team sweeps tourney
After an opening week of frustration, the Northwest College volleyball team turned things around in impressive fashion over the weekend. The team won all four of its games at the Colby (Kan.) tournament to finish at the head of the class.

Trappers fall shy against Rocky
The Northwest College Trappers turned in solid stats, but not a victory on Tuesday night in their 2012 home-opener against the Rocky Mountain College JV team. The Trappers fell by a 25-23, 19-25, 25-21, 27-25 final to slide to 0-5 on the young season.

Rough weekend for NWC spikers
The collegiate volleyball season got off to a shaky start for Northwest College over the weekend as the team dropped all four of its games at the College of Southern Idaho tournament. The Trappers lost 3-0 to No. 1 Southern Idaho, No. 7 Salt Lake and unranked Snow College. The Trappers fell by a 3-1 count to Utah State University- Eastern (formerly Eastern Utah).
