Win Over No. 15 Western Not Enough To Lift NWC Into Top 20

A victory last Saturday over then No. 15 Western Wyoming wasn’t enough to move Northwest College into a spot in the top 20 in the latest round of the NJCAA volleyball rankings. For a third consecutive week, the Trappers rank among a number of schools residing just outside the rankings.

Central Wyoming, which defeated Northwest in four games last week, slid up one spot to No. 12. Western Wyoming slid down to spots to No. 17. Casper College, which had been receiving votes alongside Northwest, vanished from mention in the latest batch of rankings.

The Trappers, currently 16- 11 this season, host Laramie County Community College and Eastern Wyoming this Friday and Saturday. Northwest College currently trails Central Wyoming by a half-game in the Region IX North standings.

Northwest College will host that regional tournament, starting on Oct. 31. The Region IX North tournament champion earns a spot in the NJCAA national championship tournament.
