Trapper wrestling revs up for district action
The Northwest College wrestling team received a bit of good news prior to their departure for West district action this weekend in Portland, Ore. In the first update of junior college wrestling rankings since December, the Trappers were bumped from No. 7 to No. 3 in the nation.

Trapper women split games
The Northwest College women forced 28 turnovers and placed three players in double figures in posting a 60-54 victory over Central Wyoming last week in Region IX North basketball action. The contest was played in Riverton.

The Northwest College women’s basketball team learned an important lesson about focus last week. When they have it, as was the case in the team’s 96-79 win over No. 18 Gillette last Wednesday, the Trappers can play with just about anyone.

Trapper teams fall at Western Wyoming
The Northwest College men’s and women’s basketball programs suffered setbacks over the weekend, falling to Western Wyoming. For the Trapper men’s team, the loss was especially painful as the squad looked to jockey for position near the top of the Region IX North standings.

Second-half struggles cost Trapper women
A late first half surge by Northwest College appeared to provide the Trappers the spark they would need to shake off the doldrums in their game against Miles Community College. Unfortunately for NWC head coach Janis Beal, the second half saw no similar spark as the Trappers fell 66-53 on their home floor.
