Offensive struggles in the first quarter for the Northwest College women’s basketball team led to a 72-60 loss to Central Wyoming College on Saturday at Powell.

The home team only scored 11 points in the first 10 minutes and trailed by 12. The deficit grew to 44-29 at halftime.

Although the Northwest women made some inroads on the deficit by outscoring their opponents 21-16 in the first 10 minutes on the second half, it wouldn’t be enough to complete a comeback. The Lady Trappers only mustered 10 points in the final minutes.

According to the conference website region9athletics.com, the Lady Trappers of Northwest had three players score in double figures. Larissa Knight led the way with 13 points. Chandler Rose and Kealani Sagapolu each scored 10 points in the home loss.
