Marine Captain's Course

OUPV (6 Pack) Class dates at Northwest College, Powell, Wyoming offered November 30th to December 11th, 2026
The classroom dates are Monday, November 30, December 1, 2 and 3 the first week and
Monday, December 7 -11, 2026, the second week and all are mandatory attendance. December
10th is review (not mandatory, but highly encouraged) and December 11th is test day.
A student can wait to take the tests another day, subject to instructor and facility
availability.
The COST IS $1,695 PP. Payment by credit card incurs a 4% additional fee.
The Course is made up of 4 modules that require the following percentage for passing the class: 1. Piloting and Navigation (70%) - 50 questions; 2.Charting (90%) -10 questions; 3. Rules of the Road (90%) - 50 questions; and 4. Deck General (70%) - 50 questions.
A $600 nonrefundable deposit is required. Once paid you will receive the course materials by email with printing instructions and secure a seat in the class. It is highly recommended that you take advantage of the early registration and allow for additional study time prior to the start of class as this has proven to be the recipe for successful completion of this course. Each student will have 3 chances to pass each of the battery of 4 exams over the course of 8 hours on the day of testing. If a module isn't passed or (dropped), a retest of that module will be made available on another day. No failed exam may be retaken in the same day.
