The Northwest College wrestling team climbed one space in the first NJCAA wrestling poll of 2010. Head coach Jim Zeigler's crew now sits fourth among junior college wrestling programs.

The three teams ahead of Northwest remain unchanged. Iowa Central remains at the head of the class, followed by St. Louis-Meramec and North Idaho. The Trappers jumped ahead of Labette, which slid to fifth in the standings, despite dropping a dual to the Grizzlies earlier this month.

NJCAA rankings are ordered based upon the predicted order of finish among teams in a tournament-format competition.

Rounding out the top 10 in the latest poll are Clackamas, Highline, Lincoln, Colby and Iowa Lakes. Mercyhurst, Muskegon, Southwestern Oregon, Pratt and Rend Lake close out the top 15. No. 5 Labette, No. 9 Colby and No. 14 Pratt will all attend the same regional tournament as the Trappers this spring.

In the individual weight class ratings, Landon Harris remains atop the 285-pound division, as he has all season. Five other members of the Trappers' rotation are also ranked among the top 12 wrestlers at their weight - Jesse Hillhouse (sixth at 125), Saul Guerrero (fifth at 133), Mc- Cade Ford (sixth at 141), Nick Petersen (third at 174) and Mak Jones (fourth at 197).
