The Northwest College Trappers slid one spot in the latest NJCAA wrestling rankings released late last week. After appearing as the No. 6 team in December’s rankings, the Trappers are now part of a three-way tie at No. 7 in the poll.

Nassau (N.Y.) and Ellsworth (Iowa) are the other teams currently sharing the No. 7 ranking with Northwest College.

Individually, four Northwest College wrestlers appear in the top 12 of their weight classes. Nick Petersen, who grabbed the No. 1 ranking in December’s poll, remains entrenched atop the 184-pound standings. Teammate Jesse Hillhouse joins him as a top ranked wrestler, moving up to assume No. 1 in the 133-pound standings.

The Trappers’ other wrestlers to receive individual rankings are sophomore Sears Tiernan (No. 6 at 285) and freshman Keithen Cast (No. 5 at 174). Both dropped slightly from their position in December’s polls.
