Lindsay Linton Buk

Lindsay Linton Buk '10
Jackson, WY

Lindsay Linton Buk has worked as a professional artist since 2008, though she has always been exposed to the arts. A native of Powell, she was classically trained in ballet, jazz, and modern dance. After earning her bachelor's degree in History, with a minor in Geography, from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, Buk graduated from the Photographic Communications program at Northwest College where she received accolades for her photographic work, including “Best in Show” and “Best Portrait” at the annual student showcases. Lindsay has worked professionally as an artist while also building her business as a photographer in Wyoming and beyond.

Lindsay’s work is described as “art with an impact." Her flagship work, "Women in Wyoming," celebrates the achievements, power and learned wisdom of Wyoming women today and uses art and media as tools to empower women and girls in Wyoming and beyond. The project has reached statewide to international audiences through the various media platforms (website, social media, and podcast), and a traveling exhibit. The exhibit has presented at several galleries across Wyoming as well as the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Fotonostrum gallery in Barcelona, Spain. Audiences feel the strength, spirit and power of Wyoming women up close and personal via large-scale portraits, an immersive audio soundscape and interactive storytelling components. Moreover, Lindsay cultivates curiosity through uplifting messaging and visuals to generate awareness for current issues facing Wyoming women.

Lindsay is a founding committee member of The Wyoming Committee for the National Museum for Women in the Arts and currently serves as a board member for the Wyoming Women’s Foundation. Additionally, Lindsay has remained connected to Northwest College after graduation by serving as both a final portfolio reviewer for the capstone Professional Portfolio II final presentations in 2020, and as a juror for the annual juried photography student show in the Northwest Gallery in 2019.

Lindsay and her husband, Dane, live in Jackson, Wyoming with their two young boys.
