More activities have been added to Northwest College’s Paint the Town Red event Friday, Aug. 24, from 3:30 p.m. to midnight in downtown Powell.

The first 200 people to arrive wearing red will receive a prize. Community members of all ages are invited to attend Paint the Town Red and help welcome both new and returning Northwest College students to the downtown area.

A Johnson Fitness Center table will also be present for individuals who wish to learn about the gym’s recent renovations, as well as a Trapper Booster Club booth with t-shirts available for purchase.

For those interested in taking a break from the downtown festivities, the NWC Observatory will host an open house from 9-10:30 p.m. to allow community members to get a closer look at the night sky. Located northwest of the Trapper soccer field on 10th Street, the all-metal structure houses 10 telescopes and is equipped with a sliding roof.
