The American Heart Association's (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
course is a foundational training program designed to teach critical skills for high-quality
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use of an automated external defibrillator (AED),
and relief of choking in adults, children, and infants.
Its target audience is primarily healthcare professionals and other personnel who
need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills
in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.
